An eight-year old boy is sent to Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries after an afternoon incident.
It happened around 4 p.m. near 627 Munson Road in Zanesville.
Zanesville Police Department Sergeant Chris Phipps says the boy was chasing a dog that got loose and went out the front door of his home, and he failed to look before running out into the street. Phipps says the driver of the vehicle saw the boy and stopped, but the boy ran into the side of the car.
An Ohio miner remains at Grant Medical Center in Columbus after an accident at Buckingham Coal Company Monday.
Mine Safety and Health Administration Public Affairs Director, Amy Louviere, says during the miner's shift, a chain of events caused a piece of metal cable to struck him and forced a piece of machinery to hit and pin the miner. Louviere says the miner was stuck and needed assistance from other workers to be released.
A newark man is dead after an early morning crash.
It happened at 2:30 am Sunday moring on I-70 East near State Route 37. The Granville Highway Patrol Post says 32 year old Douglas Rookard was traveling east on I-70 when his vehicle drove off the left side of the road striking the median. The vehicle rolled and partially ejected Rookard. He was prounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol is considered to be a factor in the crash.
