Donors, employees and other members of the community got to sign a reserved steel beam that will help hold up the Advanced Science and Technology Center for Zane State College

Fifteen months from now a new building will sit across from Zane State on ground that once house the county home.

Zane State College is gearing up for its future site of their Advanced Science and Technology Center.

Currently, the old County Home sits where the future facility will be built. Zane State President Dr. Paul Brown says they will continue to use the building for some educational and training purposes until the building is torn down. An area college is hoping to help with economic development in southeastern Ohio.

American Electric Power donates funds towards Zane State's new Advanced Science and Technology Center.

Representatives of the company presented the college with a check for $200,000 from the American Electric Power Foundation.

As the two-year college aims to foster growth among students, Zane State itself has noticed a significant increase in enrollment within the past six years.

As a way to handle the growing population of students as well as provide more learning opportunities, Zane State is looking into adding an Advanced Science and Technology Center to its Zanesville campus which will offer various energy programs.
