Local sculptor, Alan Cottrill, is getting ready to unveil his latest masterpiece.

In November, the Ohio State University will celebrate the 50th birthday of its beloved mascot. After months of hard work and fine-tuning, Brutus Buckeye is nearing completion. The seven-foot, 478-pound bronze statue will make its way to Ohio State's campus in just a few weeks.

I got the chance to watch Cottrill in action as he brings this sports icon to life! He said he's about two-thirds of the way through the statue and will likely finish in the coming weeks.

The bronze mascot will settle at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio just in time for Ohio State's basketball season. Until then, Cottrill is working hard to fine tune the 7-foot Brutus.

The son of a coal miner's dream to honor his father and other fallen miners came true at a memorial unveiling on Saturday.

Zanesville's First Friday Artwalk will be held this week.

The Veterans Memorial Committee still needs a little more money to meet its goal.

The Veterans Monument in downtown Zanesville is almost finished. Muskingum County Veterans Secretary Treasurer Jeff Dittmar says they plan to have it completed by November 6th, but still need more funds.

"We still need  $13,400 to complete the project and we're still hoping that the people will still understand that we're in the final phases," Dittmar said....
