The cold temperatures have led to fewer blood donors for the American Red Cross.

Rick Dayton with the Red Cross says they've had to cancel blood drives at area schools that have closed due to the cold.  Donations have also been down because people haven't been going out to brave the elements to donate.

WHIZ partnered with the American Red Cross Monday for a blood drive.

The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive Friday.

It will be held at the new Muskingum County Chapter House in Norwich, from 10:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. Marlene Henderson, said that they have a little extra incentive for people to come out an donate blood, each donor will get a ticket to Cedar Point.

Golfers around the Zanesville area headed to Jaycee's Golf Course today to support a very important cause.

The Muskingum Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross is looking for new volunteers.

With warmer temperatures, melting snow, and the forecast of rain for the weekend, the American Red Cross is warning residents to be prepared for the possibility of flooding. The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for the majority of the state for creeks, rivers and streams due to heavy downpours.

Cold temperatures have many cranking up the heat.
