Saturday at Eaglesticks the Muskingum County Animal Shelter held their annual fundraising auction.

The Animal Shelter's newest fury friend in need of a forever home.

Cindy is a 5-year-old domestic short-haired cat with a beautiful coat, shaded with the rich colors of fall. This energetic feline is playful with people and other pets, but also very affectionate. The Animal Shelter is featuring Rayna, a four-year-old mix breed.

Rayna is this weeks pet of the week, and you can take her home for just a $125. Jody Murray, the Executive Director of The Animal Shelter said Rayna is a great dog for any style of household.

The Animal Shelter Society of Muskingum County will improve animal based programs through funds raised at their annual auction.

The organization raised more than $21,000 at this year's auction that took place a few weeks ago, Executive Director, Jody Murray says that he was pleased with the event.

Every year the Animal Shelter Society helps find homes for animals left in their care.

Taking care of the animals and running program like spaying and neutering can tax the budget. To help raise money for the local non-profit they'll host the "Paws for Pigskin" auction at Ohio University/Zane State Campus Center on Saturday.
