A local man wanted in connection with a state wide investigation has turned himself into authorities.

Sebastian Luu of Zanesville is facing felony charges of practicing cosmetology without a license. His sister, 18-year-old Britney Luu was arrested Thursday at the Z-Nails salon in Zanesville. She faces similar charges.

The partying is done and 2011 is officially here...and surprisingly, the drunk driving arrests this past weekend were quite low.

Sergeant Clark Felix of The State Highway Patrol says there were only two drunk driving arrests this holiday weekend.  The Highway Patrol also handled eight wrecks with only two of them involving injuries; all of the wrecks were non-alcohol related.

76 people are arrested after the Annual Halloween Block Party in Athens, and 63 of those individuals were taken to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.

Local authorities say the crowd was larger than in years past and remained a good size throughout the night.

Here's a breakdown of the charges they're reporting:

-two possession of oxycotin charges
-six open container charges

A woman and two men from the Nashport area are arrested in connection to several break-in's in both Muskingum and Perry counties.

Muskingum County Sheriff, Matt Lutz, says a Crooksville police officer noticed that the concession stand at the Crooksville football field had been broken into.

The Mexican drug cartel is present in Ohio. The Ohio Attorney General's Office says the group was growing thousands of marijuana plants in both Muskingum and Logan counties before federal, state, and local authorities busted these operations this week. It brings the number of marijuana plants seized in Ohio this year to 60,000.

30 people are arrested in Athens after a spring block party, know as Palmerfest, gets out of hand. 10 of those individuals were Ohio University students.

The annual event started around eight a.m. Saturday, and the Athens Police Department says it didn't escalate until later in the night.

An annual block party, known as High Fest, just off Ohio University's campus gets out of hand Saturday night.

The Athens Police Department says the event was under control for a majority of the day, until a large amount of bottles were thrown in the street between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Lieutenant Dave Williams says a fire was started around this time as well, using chairs and trash cans. The Athens County Sheriff's Office is currently conducting "Operation Busted Balloon," which has taken more than 20 individuals into custody on drug-related charges-including Morgan County Jail escapee Christopher Lee Clark.

It says it has been working with many local, state, and federal authorities over the past several months once the Sheriff's Office became aware that several of its heroin investigations stemmed from Columbus.
