The United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties is gearing up for their annual campaign.

The Southeast Ohio 2-1-1 call center released their monthly report Tuesday.

The call center is a free service open 24-7 to help callers with any informational questions they might have.

The United Way's 2-1-1 Information Call Center received surprising results in their monthly report for January.

The 211 call center searches for a person to help respond to the community's needs.

The center recently decided to take a full-time position and split it into two part-time positions. They're currently looking for a person to fill one of these positions. The change gives the center more flexibility.

The Southeast Ohio 2-1-1 call center has seen an increase in phone calls over the last month.

January saw over 400 more calls from the previous month from Muskingum county alone.

Call center manager Audrey Foster said a third of the total number of calls were for financial counseling and tax preparation.

"One of the things I'd like to stress for the tax calls is that they call just during office hours between 8 o'clock in the morning and 4:30 p.m.," said Foster....
