Thornville Fire Department received a call on a barn fire at 10:13 am on Wednesday on Ohio 204 about a mile west of the village of Thornville.

Upon arrival, Thornville Fire Chief Jeremy Weekly said that they immediately requested back up. Due to windy conditions, the fire took longer than expected to contain, but was contained within a few hours causing the barn to be a total loss.

Shortly after 8:30PM, fire crews were called to a barn fire at 2530 Thompson Run Road Thursday.

The barn was full of hay, making the fire difficult to put out. Newton Township, Crooksville, South Zanesville, and National Trail Volunteer Fire Departments all responded to the blaze. The barn looks to be a total loss, but it is believed that no surrounding buildings were damaged. Fire fighters say the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Washington Township Fire Department said they battled a barn fire Sunday afternoon.

The department got the call just before 4:30p.m. for a fire on the Cameron Property at 3995 Northfield Road.

Fire Chief Gene Hanning said when crews arrived about 45 round hay bales were on fire. The fire and heat had gotten into the bales which needed torn apart in order to put out the flames.

About 50 farm animals - goats, chickens, ducks and cows - perished, when a large livestock barn went up in flames early Thursday morning in Licking County.

Firefighters said the blaze in the sprawling pole barn on a farm near Pataskala likely was sparked by some heat lamps that were being used to keep the animals warm.

An area farmers loses nearly $100,000 in hay and farm equipment after a fire on Adamsville Road, Wednesday morning.

The Washington Township Fire Department was called to 3060 Adamsville Road across from McDonald's Greenhouse when a barn caught fire. Owner James McDonald said that they had just finished feeding his cows and believes his skid steer exhaust got too close to a round hay bale and caught fire. The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office says there is a barn fire Wednesday morning.  It happened at 3220 Adamsville Road across from McDonald’s Greenhouse.  Black smoke was seen from the sturcture.  The barn is located at Colonial Heights Farm. A Muskingum County barn was destroyed by fire Thursday.  It happened at 3636 Cannelville Road just before 9 a.m.  Newton Township Fire Chief Allen Deaver says between 8 and 10 thousand dollars in damage was done to the structure that burned to the ground.  Chief Deaver says the owner kept hay and small hand tools in the barn, which was insured.  Investigators say someone with a chainsaw in the barn may have caused a spark that resulted in the fire.  No injuries...

The Falls Township Fire Department was called to an early morning barn fire.  It happened just after 4:00 Friday morning at 5715 Dresden Road.  Initial reports from the Bunting farm indicated that it was a fully involved fire when crews arrived on the scene.  One fire fighter told us the barn included several tractors.  the 40 x60 pole barn is considered a total loss. Damage from the fire is estimated between $80,000 and $100,000. ...

Several area fire department spent part of Thursday battling a big barn fire in Muskingum County.   It happened around 10:30 this morning at the Watson Farm at 2800 Arch Hill Road.  New Concord Fire Chief Brent Gates – who was the first on the scene – said when he arrived the barn was fully involved in flames.  Gates says the owner had equipment, tractors, golf carts, tires and he stored his sheep’s wool in the barn – which was all lost....

9-1-1 service is out to residents of New Concord.

New Concord Fire Chief Brent Gates said Thursday morning that there was a barn fire in Guernsey County that burned through the main trunk line of phone line.

As a result anyone with an 826 exchange cannot call long distance, outside the village or 9-1-1. Also cell service is down to all providers, except Verizon.

Repair crews on the scene say service should be restoredby 5 p.m. Thursday.
