A local family held their 3rd annual juvenile diabetes benefit to raise money in hopes of finding a cure for the disease.

Hundreds of people stopped by the Muskingum County Fairgrounds on Saturday to support the West family. Hannah West is 16- years -old and was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at age ten. The family of a local woman who was abducted and murdered earlier this week is keeping her memory alive.

26-year- old Kayla Thompson's life was cut short when she was abducted and murdered while performing her job as a delivery girl for Plus 1 Pizza in Cambridge. A benefit was held on Saturday in honor of a 20 year deputy with the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office who is battling a life threatening illness.

Almost two years ago, Doug Smith was diagnosed with the incurable disease, Pulmonary Fibrosis. The disease scars and hardens the lungs to the point that victims can no longer breathe. A 20 year deputy of the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office needs your help after battling a debilitating disease and expensive medical bills and medication.

A special memorial was held Friday night in order to raise money for a local woman who passed away after losing her fight with cancer.

Jana Hahn's husband says they found out she had Melanoma cancer four months ago and originally planned to have a benefit for her to help pay for her medical costs. A large crowd of people all wearing blue shirts filled Primrose Retirement Center Sunday.

They were all in attendance to support cancer patient, Darlene Ulry to help offset the high cost of medical bills. Her husband, Clyde Ulry works at the retirement home and the Life Enrichment Coordinator, Tammy Grayson says they all support each other at Primrose.

 A benefit was held at Tree of Life church to help a little boy and his family.

5-month-old Elijah Holliday suffers from several heart conditions, and had to have surgery just days after his birth. Saturday a prayer run and dinner were held to help raise money for the family. 

"The rain kind of put a damper on things." explained Elijah's mother, Chrissy Holliday. "I think we had ten or twelve go on the prayer run, and said it was awesome."

A little girl is receiving an outpouring of love and support.
