Hundreds of area runners and walkers took part in the 5th Annual 'Run 4 Grant' 5K, Saturday morning.

Walkers and runners flooded Blue Avenue today for 4th the annual run for grant 5k.

Over 200 people ran in memory of the Grant Hickman who was 14 when he died suddenly in 2011. His mother, Beth Hickman said that today is even more special than past years.

The 3rd annual Run 4 Grant 5K is set for this weekend. Organizers are inviting you to come out to remember and celebrate the life of former Zanesville High School student, Grant Hickman.

A young Zanesville man that was taken too soon is remembered through a fundraiser set up by his loving parents.

Grant Hickman died 2 years ago. He was a member of the Zanesville Football Team and touched the lives of many people in the community. Today was the 2nd annual Run for Grant event. The money raised at the run goes towards awarding scholarships to local students.

Two years ago Zanesville lost one of its youngest members.

Grant Hickman was 14 years old when he lost his life. The Zanesville High School Freshman's memory lives on through Run4Grant, a 5K race started by his parents in his honor.

"He was just a great kid with a big heart, he respected everybody. He had tons of friends not only from Zanesville, Tri-Valley, West Muskingum, Rosecrans. It's not just a loss for us it's a loss for the whole community," said his father....
