Several charities win big at the Colony Square Mall's Festival of Giving.

This year the mall split $5,000 between nine local charities. Big Brothers/Big Sisters received 22 percent of the returned receipts and won big earning over $1,100. Executive Director Mollie Crooks said the money will be used to recruit, train and match bigs with littles.

Mall Marketing Manager Kevin Pinson said he was impressed with the turn-out.

As the holidays draw near, so does the season of giving, and sometimes the best gift isn't the most expensive.

Big Brothers Big Sisters locally serves Muskingum, Morgan, Noble, and Perry Counties. In every county there are children waiting for their Big Brother or Big Sister to step forward. The month of November brings with it several events in the Muskingum County area.

The Zanesville South Business Association's annual Holiday Parade takes place November 18th at 2 p.m.. The deadline for entry registration is November 7th. All parade entries must pre-register. One local organization is celebrating Fat Tuesday in August.

It was the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville's yearly banquet to honor its volunteers and donors at Bryan Place.

Youth in our community will get a chance to pair up with law enforcement in a program designed to bring the two together.

Through the Ohio Attorney General's Office and the Cal Ripkin Senior Foundation a $20,000 grant was awarded to the Zanesville Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, Wednesday. The program is eight weeks and is called Ohio Badges for Baseball. The hands-on program teams law enforcement with youth ages 10-14 to help create a positive relationship between the two.

Bowlers are wrapping up their efforts to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Sunday marked the last day of the Muskingum County Bowl for Kids' Sake fundraiser at Maysville All Star Lanes.  Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters Mollie Crooks said the turnout was less than expected, but every bit helps.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for volunteers to help raise money - by bowling.

The Bowl for Kids Sake "Rock and Bowl" event raises money to help recruit, screen and match volunteer mentors with local youth.

Buckeye fans are coming together to gear up for the big Ohio State games left on the schedule and to support a good cause.
