Today we bring you the race for United States Representative for Ohio's 6th District.

At the candidates forum in Zanesville Sunday both challengers to congressman Bill Johnson (R) spoke. Johnson, however, had a representative speak on his behalf. Sarah Poulton read a letter in which Johnson outlined what he will do if re-elected.

Local community members searching for career opportunities came out to Zane State College for the 2013 Southeastern Ohio Jobs Fair.

At the event there were more than 35 employers searching for qualified candidates to hire in both management and entry level positions.

A panel on coal energy warns that customers could see electricity rates rise if more regulations go into effect regarding the product. .

American Electric Power's Bruce Braine said that nearly 80 percent of Ohio's electricity comes from coal and rates could rise ten to thirty percent if more regulations go into effect. Regulations impact not only coal, but energy production and in turn will impact jobs.

Muskingum County has its first shale drilling rig in place after years of exploration.

The drill is located in southeastern Muskingum County, in Meigs Township near The Wilds animal preserve.

Other shale updates were presented today at the Shale Task Force meeting.

Task force facilitator and County Commissioner Steve Strauss said two shale rigs in Guernsey county are now producing and providing data.

One well is actually stated as being, "above expectation"...

A congressman running for re-election is looking for votes in Muskingum County.

Republican Bill Johnson has served in the United States Congress since 2010, representing the 6th District. When this year's census numbers led to redistricting of Ohio, part of Muskingum County was included in that district.

"I didn't go to Washington to become a member of a member of the club," said Rep. Johnson. "I'm not a career politician. I'm a farm boy born and raised on the farm...
