The Zanesville football team has always been an integral part of the high school, but this year they have taken it to a different level. The Devils capped off just the second undefeated season in school history and routed their first playoff opponent, 38-0.

It's not every day that you get to play in a professional stadium. But two local soccer teams will do just that Saturday afternoon. Both the Zanesville and West Muskingum boys will kick off their seasons against each other at Crew Stadium.

At Zanesville High School this afternoon, cornerback Austin Craig and Linebacker Kole Buckley signing their letter of intent to play football at Ohio Dominican University.

Buckley was a First Team ECOL player, as well as First Team All-District and Region. Kole was also the leading tackler on the Blue Devil team his Junior and Senior Year as well. Craig earned All-District, Regional, and state honors.

(ZANESVILLE) -- Wes Hudson will forever have fond memories of John Marshall.  Last year against the Monarchs, Hudson took over as the Blue Devils' top quarterback after an injury to Ian McFarland the week before, and decimated John Marshall's defense en route to a 49-20 win.

The Bishops continue their hot start with yet another shutout, this time the Black Bears are the victims. Rosecrans goalie Jaren Prater made three saves for his fourth shutout of the year, while Logan Lazar added his ninth and tenth goals of the season for the 2-0 margin. The Zanesville Blue Devils have survived a long offseason, complete with tragedy, illness, and injury, and are now ready for another run at the playoffs.

Coach Chad Grandstaff and his team have been thinking about 2011 ever since their 49-19 postseason loss at Marion-Franklin last year, and for many reasons.

(ZANESVILLE) -- The 2011 High School football season is almost underway, and the Zanesville Blue Devils couldn't be happier.

It's been a rocky offseason for ZHS.  The Red, White, and Blue have been hard at work replacing 21 seniors from last year's team, on top of handling a mild Impetigo outbreak during two-a-days and the death of freshman football player Grant Hickman.
