Downtown Zanesville is now a place for breakfast in the mornings.

Four Turns Bakery, Treehouse, Speedy King Food Truck, Ditty’s Downtown Deli, and Subway are now offering their food services to the people in the mornings.

Dana Matz down at the Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce said that every 24 hours about 130,000 people drive through the downtown area.

Bacon, eggs and a former NBA basketball player are the ingredients for a successful athletic awards breakfast.

The 7th annual Muskingum Christian Athlete Leadership Awards breakfast took place Saturday morning at Coburn United Methodist Church. Several athletes from local high schools were honored for their outstanding athletic, scholastic, and community efforts.

Over 500 people attended the Farmer's Share Breakfast at Zanesville High School, Saturday morning. The fourth annual breakfast was cooked by about 80 local Future Farmer's of America students and farmer's from around Muskingum County.

"It's just an educational opportunity to bring the pubic out and meet some of the local farmers who are growing their food. We also have a lot of agricultural displays around the room and there's a scavenger hunt where people can answer the questions...

Farmers only receive $.20 of every dollar spent at the grocery store.

At Mid-East on Saturday farmers invited the community to breakfast. The breakfast cost only $.50 to represent what farmers make and gave them a chance to explain what they provide the community.

"It provides the food, the fiber and the pharmaceuticals we all need to provide food, clothing and health care to our people on an everyday basis," said Farmer Andy Spiker.
