A motorcyclist was transported to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after being struck from behind by a utility truck.

Lt. Bill Shaw with the Zanesville Police Department said the motorcycle rider was heading northbound on Brighton Boulevard around 2:00 p.m. when he stopped at a red traffic light at the intersection of Ridge Avenue. A house fire at 317 Brighton Boulevard broke out this evening.

The Zanesville Fire Department and Genesis EMS responded at approximately 9PM. A mother and her 7 year old daughter were home at the time, both escaped unharmed. According to Assistant Chief Bob Long of the Zaneville Fire Department, the fire originated in a bedroom closet, causing mainly smoke damage to clothing and other things within the room. A local church is continuing its journey to fulfill the founding pastor's dream of a new house of worship.

The First United Pentecostal Church is hosting its third annual Fulfilling the Dream 5K to raise money for the new building's construction. The event will be held at Foxfire High School on July 26th. A Zanesville man changed his plea in connection to a stabbing incident on Brighton Boulevard.

27-year-old Brian Williams entered a plea of guility to charges of felonious assault and possession of drugs.

Muskingum County Prosecutor's Office said on April 2, Williams got into an altercation with another man on Brighton Boulevard over drugs and stabbed the man with a knife causing injuries.

Two Zanesville men charged in connection with a stabbing appeared in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court Wednesday.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, 28-year-old Drake Newell and 31-year-old Aaron Gray both pleaded not guilty to one count each of felonious assault and attempted murder.

Zanesville Police say the charges stem from the March 19th stabbing of 44-year-old Edward Brooks Allender on Brighton Boulevard.

A Zanesville woman is lucky to be alive after being shot in the head early Tuesday morning while delivering newspapers.

The 9-1-1 call came in at about 3 this morning. 53 year-old Joyce Miller of Zanesville was delivering the newspaper near Brighton Boulevard and Dryden Road. She thought she heard a car back fire. The sound she heard was gun fire-striking her just behind the right ear.

A clock that many Zanesvile residents consider to be a local landmark is destroyed.

A 16-year-old boy was taken to the hospital Monday afternoon after being struck by an SUV.

The accident happened around 4:30 near 333 Brighton Boulevard in Zanesville. According to Officer Joel Tignor with the Zanesville Police Department, the boy rode his bike into the path of the SUV.

Tignor says the boy was taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries.
