Cub Scout Pack 121 had their 24th Annual Father-Son Cake auction at Dresden United Methodist Church. The Cub Scouts auctioned off 30 cakes to residents to raise money for their upcoming summer camp trip this August.

The 25th Carr Center Cake Auction is over and the numbers are in.

This year's two day total comes in at 131,210 dollars. WHIZ's cake sold for 3,000 dollars three times during the last ten minutes of bidding.

"We went from about 115,000 to 130,000 in a heartbeat," said John Hajjar, Executive Director, Carr Center.

Hajjar says even though this year's total is lower than last year's 138,500 dollars raised, it still provides around a quarter of the Carr Center's...

The public is invited to view all of the cakes submitted for the 25th Annual Carr Center Cake Auction.

It was a busy Wednesday at the Colony Square Mall as participants carefully brought in each of their cakes and placed it in its assigned area. Volunteer Tammy Porter said she enjoys seeing what each baker creates and how much they will go for.

"When you talk to the cake bakers and see how many hours they've put in, I asked a lady who came in earlier and she said she's...

One local bakery is swamped, preparing 70 cakes for the Carr Center Cake Auction. The community-wide event takes place this Thursday and Friday.

There were spatulas whipping icing frantically, cake pans twirling, and lots of movement in Riesbeck's Pick 'N' Save Bakery as four workers take on 70 cakes, but with about 90 years of experience, they say they're ready to take the challenge on.

"It's only once a year. I think we can handle it. It's worthwhile, " says cake...
