The Cambridge Fire Department are searching for the cause of a fire that destroyed a downtown restaurant.

Chief Jeff Deeks said it happened just before 8:30 p.m Tuesday night at the Courtside Deli at 117 West 8th Street next to the Guernsey County Courthouse.

 A fire destroyed the Courtside Deli on W. 8th St. near the courthouse Tuesday night.

The Cambridge Police Department said they responded to the blaze along with the Cambridge Fire Department around 8:20 p.m. Officials are unsure if anyone was in the deli at the time or if there are any injuries. Cassel Station and Byesville Fire Departments both assisted at the scene along with United Ambulance.

The Cambridge Fire Department spent the early morning of Thanksgiving battling a house fire. 

The fire broke out at 800 North Fifth Street in Cambridge just after 2:30am. 

Firefighters said the story and a half structure will likely be ruled a total loss due to smoke damage throughout the home. 

They believe at this time the fire began in the living room area, but the cause is still under investigation.

The Cambridge Fire Department spent early Wednesday morning on the scene of a fire on Gomber Avenue. 

The fire took place in the 900 block. Fire officials said when they got the call around 3:30a.m. the back half of the home was on fire. 

Officials said a person did live at the home, but wasn't there at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.

Two fires in Cambridge are now under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's Office.

Cambridge Fire Department said they battled the first blaze just after 8:30 Sunday night in the 700 block of South Eighth Street. The fire was a vacant home.

Not too long after firefighters returned to the fire station they received another call of a house fire in the 100 block of Clay Street. That home was vacant as well.

A fire broke out Thursday evening in Cambridge.

The Captain with the Cambridge Fire Department says the fire started around 6:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Coshocton Avenue. When crews arrived the home was fully involved in flames. It took firefighters about 30-to-40 minutes to put the fire out. Crews were still on scene at 10:30 p.m. containing what was left of the building, which has been vacant for years.

All 19 Cambridge fire fighters responded to the scene of a fire around 11:30 a.m. Friday in downtown Cambridge at 925 Wheeling Ave. But it got so out of control, they called for back up from Byesville, New Concord, Cassell Station and Liberty Fire Departments and closed part of the street.

Four Cambridge firefighters were injured Monday morning while fighting a fire in the 400 block of Steubenville Avenue.

Fire Officials said the men were injured when the first floor collapsed into the basement.

Three of the men have since been released. One is still in the hospital with an arm injury.

Officials said the home was vacant and suffered heavy damage.

Crews were still on the scene as of 7:30 Monday morning.

The Cambridge Fire Department was called out on a mutual aid fire Monday morning.

Not much is known at this time, but crews were called to Steubenville Avenue just after 4a.m.
