High School Boys Basketball:

Zanesville 43 Dover 40

If there's one phrase that's been the calling card Scott Aronhalt's Blue Devils over the years, it's been "respect winning." It's what gets the Zanesville basketball players out of bed on a summer morning; it's what the Blue Devils continue to do this season.

In a battle between the thirteenth and fourteenth winningest programs in Ohio State basketball history, the...

H.S. Boys Basketball:

Marietta 39 Rosecrans 52

It wasn't the prettiest game but a win is a win and Rosecrans stayed perfect thanks in large part to even scoring from their starting line up. Four Bishops were in double figures lead by Zak Kirkbride who had 13 points but only one field goal on the night. Zach Hill recorded a double double by grabbing 14 rebounds and tossing in 10 points. Aaron Parry had 12 and Ian Durrant chipped in...

H.S. Boys Basketball:

New Philadelphia 34 Zanesville 52

After the loss to Newark Sunday, coach Scott Aronhalt and his staff challenged his kids to re-commit themselves to the basketball program. Goals were defined again, and some measures were taken to ensure that the Blue Devils were focused on getting better as a team, rather than as individuals.

The New Philadelphia Quakers (3-2, 2-1) were, unfortunately, the first team to...

H.S. Boys Basketball:

Zanesville 52 Marietta 47

The Blue Devils get win number one on the year and their first ECOL league win with a five point victory over Marietta. Zanesville trailed after every quarter, but played a sound game down the stretch to preserve the victory. Coach Scott Aronhalt's bunch jumped out to a 30-23 lead three minutes into the third quarter, the biggest lead for either team in the game. Marietta then...

Boys Basketball

Rosecrans 75 Maysville 54

A game that was so close a year ago was anything but this season as Rosecrans cruised to a 21 point win. The Bishops were lead in scoring by senior Aaron Parry who had 24 points but it was senior Ian Durrant who made the biggest splash notching 16 points in his first ever start. The Panthers did a good job in shutting down the reinning Division IV player of the year Zak Kirkbride who scored just...

Girls Basketball

Coshocton 38 Cambridge 41

In a game that looked to be all Bobcats, Cambridge jumped out to an 8-0 lead in Gene Ford Gymnasium, looking like they would run away with things. But Coshocton battled, ending up having a great third quarter, only to fall short as a Redskin three pointer missed the mark as the final horn sounded. Hallie Stocker leading all scorers with 21 points, including five three pointers.

H.S. Boys Basketball:

Cambridge 83 Maysville 77 OT

What a way to open the boys basketball season. In a game that was thought to be a low posession, grind-it-out type affair, it proved to be anything but in Southtown tonight. The Maysville Panthers were determined tog et the ball up and down the floor, as Head Coach Todd Whiteman channeled his inner Paul Westhead. Cambridge was up for the challenge though, as coach Mike Andrews' bunch...
