Big Brothers Big Sisters is sending twelve kids to camp this summer.

Tim Horton's is providing the chance for six students to go to their adventure and leadership camps in Kentucky and Canada. The rest of the children will be attending a camp hosted by the Ohio Attorney General's Office with help from local law enforcement.

The local scouts are headed to summer camp and they need your help.

Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of Zanesville and local businesses are teaming up to help scouts pay their way to summer camp.  Pepsi is donating Pepsi products and the use of Pepsi trailers which will be stationed throughout town this weekend.  Muskingum Valley Council Executive Director of the Boy Scouts, Ed Mulholland, says summer camp can benefit the scouts in more way than one.

One local group is hosting a free camp this weekend.

The camp is called Wheelin' Sportsmen Fishing and Fun Day and it's for people with special needs.

"It's an opportunity to introduce them to an activity outdoors that maybe they never had done before," President of the Y-Bridge Long Beards Chapter National Wild Turkey Federation Dick Sorg said.

More than 50 local kids from the Lifewell and Eastside Community Ministries are learning what it takes to be healthy.

16-year-old Hannah Thomas is the coordinator of the "Fun and Fit Camp" that's been going on for the past 3 days.

"I wanted to make a big difference in those kids' lives, and I wanted to also teach them about fitness and nutrition because that's really important. They can keep those lessons learned all throughout their lives, " says Thomas.

The "Creating Artists, Stimulating Success" or C.A.S.S. Camp is back for its 7th year, and it's growing in size.

One local fitness center wants to make sure kids stay active this summer.

The Fieldhouse is offering its summer camp to kids, between ages six and 14. It starts May 24th and goes through the beginning of September.
