Halloween is starting to creep up, and besides worrying about the best costume to wear, it's also important to try to be as safe as possible.

The Fraternal Order of Police gathered on the green Aug. 9.

The organization hosted a golf tournament in order to raise funds for the Senior Citizen's Christmas Dinner. They hope to raise 5,000 dollars in the coming months.

The Zanesville Police Department announced Wednesday afternoon, it caught the main suspect in the murder of 24 year old, Phillip Kimbro Jr.

Captain Tony Coury says, ZPD's Detective Bureau and Special Response Team received information earlier on Wednesday, that 19 year old, Shaquille Davis of Zanesville, was in an apartment in the north end of town.

The Zanesville Police Department responded to a possible breaking and entering Thursday afternoon.

Captain Tony Coury says officers were called at around 1 p.m. to the Wheeling and Ceramic Avenue area about a man breaking into a vacant home. Officers arrived and surrounded the residence as the man inside tried to escape.

Zanesville Police are also looking for an armed robbery suspect.

The robbery took place just before 8-30 p.m. Saturday at the Marathon Station on State Street.

Captain Coury says it was reported a white male came into the store and demanded an undetermined amount of money. He says its not clear if a weapon was shown but it was reported as an armed robbery.

There are no leads at this time as detectives continue to interview witnesses. Anyone with information on this robbery...

Some of Zanesville's Police Officers were promoted to new ranks and positions Friday.

Around 1 p.m. Friday afternoon at the Zanesville Police Department, four officers received promotions ranging from Sergeant to Captain.

Patrolman Jon McCoy was promoted to Sergeant, while Sergeants Chris Phipps and Chris Rice who were promoted to Lieutenant, and Lieutenant Tony Coury was promoted to Captain.
