Organizers are calling the 27th annual Carr center cake auction a huge success.

The two day event last week at the Colony Square Mall in Zanesville raised more than 130,000 dollars for the Carr Center.

"We raised more per cake than we did last year, so we had to be pleased and like every year we never set a goal.Were just tickled to death to get whatever we can and this year was no exception, " Bucci said.

The 27th Carr Center Cake Auction ended today.

The phones rang until the very end of the auction and several bids doubled in the last few minutes.

Director of the Carr Center, Kim Hosler said this weekend was very steady.

The first official day of the Carr Center Cake Auction kicked off on Thursday.

Highlighted at Thursday's auction were the first place winners of the "People's Choice Award".

The two winning cakes were made by the Cakery Company for it's Lego design and Sheena's Sweets for it's design featuring Disney's Lady and The Tramp.

It was a first for the Carr Center and Zanesville and Western Scenic Railroad. The Scenic Railroad is a fairly new organization in the area. It provides tourist train rides along the historic rail line known as Glass Rock Spur. Golfers are teeing off to support local youth programs.

It might look like a typical day at Longaberger Golf Club, but proceeds from Monday's tournament will benefit the Carr Center.  Executive Director John Hajjar said the speech therapy, safety town and special riders programs will receive assistance.

The Carr Center is gearing up for this years Safety Town in Zanesville...And sessions are already filling up.

The 25th Carr Center Cake Auction is over and the numbers are in.

This year's two day total comes in at 131,210 dollars. WHIZ's cake sold for 3,000 dollars three times during the last ten minutes of bidding.

In the midst of the Carr Center Cake Auction one high school student benefits from the work they do.

Maysville High School Senior Sean Bingham is attending the University of Findlay this fall to study pharmacy and play in the marching band. But, on top of all the studying and music work he'll also continue to deal with a disease known as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
