County Commissioners met with the architect for the Muskingum County Senior Center Brian Addis Tuesday.

Muskingum County Maintenance Workers have begun demolition in the new building on Shinnick and 4th St. and Muskingum County Commissioner Jim Porter said he's happy to see the project underway.

The new Center for Seniors building sits nestled in downtown Zanesville on the corner of Shinnick and 4th Street but renovations have not yet begun.

After renovations are completed the Center for Seniors will have a new home in downtown Zanesville.

Muskingum County Officials announced Tuesday that they purchased the Zanesville City Schools Administration Building on fourth street for $475,000. The Executive Director of the Muskingum County Center for Seniors in Muskingum County sets a tentative reopen date for the center.

The Muskingum County Center for Seniors remains closed Thursday after a serious roof problem.

It closed last week after the roof began leaking, and the search continues for a temporary home for the center. Muskingum County Commissioner, Jim Porter, says it's still an ongoing process.
