Prior to the investment meeting Monday, the County Commissioners accepted requests from area banks,who want to protect the county's money for the next three years.

An influential local man is being remembered for his contributions to the community.

Bill Phillips passed away on Saturday at the age of 80. Phillips was the Chairman of Century National Bank's Executive Committee up until his death. This year would've been his 50th year with the bank. Throughout his career he held both the title of President and Vice President of the bank. His friends and colleagues say his mark will never be forgotten.

The Muskingum County Commissioners were treated to a surprise from Century National Bank on Monday.

Vice President and Trust Officer Jody Spencer presented the commissioners with a brass plaque engraved with the Muskingum County Flag.

Spencer said with the help of secretary Susan Culbertson, they were able to surprise the Commissioners with a presentation rather than an investment meeting.

A Zanesville woman is celebrating a major milestone.

Barbara Gibbs joined Century National Bank in 1967, and she has been working there for the past 45 years.

"It's been a wonderful place to work, and I've been fortunate that we've had good people," said Gibbs.  "A lot of the people from the first five years of my employment are still here.  We've changed names a couple of times, but it has been the same people throughout those changes."

It's never too early to start saving money.

Century National Bank gave a special thanks to some of its loyal customers on Thursday.
