Children's Services and Christ's Table are preparing for their 4th annual Pie in the Face event.

Local celebrities, including Mayor Jeff Tilton and Sheriff Matt Lutz, will take a pie to the face this Thursday afternoon, but they're taking it all for a good cause. A drawing was held Tuesday to find out who would be tossing those pies at their favorite "celeb."

Christ's table's bi-annual "Stuff the Truck" event is this weekend.

Kroger is hosting the event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Executive Director of Christ's Table, Keely Warden, said this event helps tremendously to stock the shelves at Christ's Table and that Kroger has been a huge part of making this possible.

The Martin Luther King Junior Prayer Breakfast Committee is extending the spirit of giving through February with the "Love Your Neighbor" canned food drive.

Besides remembering the man, many people took part in a day of service to remember Martin Luther King Jr. message.

Students from Muskingum University left campus and headed out to volunteer for the MLK Day of Service. One of the many groups out Monday served on the line at Christ's Table this afternoon. Christmas Day brings many family gatherings and cozy dinners around the dining room table, but for some, there may not be family to turn to or a warm meal to enjoy during the holiday.

The figures are out. The annual SOUPer Bowl raised over $13,000 for local charitable organizations.
