Two local funeral homes have joined together to give a donation to Christ's Table.

Both Burrell Funeral Service and Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home filled a truck with 15 turkeys a piece Monday. These turkeys will go to help supply Christ's Table's Thanksgiving Day meals.

Christ's Table is looking to help provide its family with Thanksgiving meals this year.

This Thanksgiving Christ's Table is expanding its home bound meal service. Each day the organization delivers meals to people around the community who are restricted to their homes.

The 18th Annual SOUPer Bowl Benefit Luncheon is Sunday the 19th at the Muskingum County Center for Seniors.

Tickets are $6 at the door, $5 in advance and $4 for children 12 and under. Keely Warden from Christ's Table said they will have five different types of soups, hot sandwiches, sloppy joe's, hot-dogs and homemade cookies. If you have a couple of extra hours to spare this weekend, Christ's Table is seeking volunteers for their Bi-Annual Canister Drive.

Twice a year Christ's Table asks for help from the community in providing funding to serve hot meals to help feed the hungry. The Canister Drive will be held this Friday and Saturday, October 10 and 11 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at local stores. The Hope for Homeless Chocolate Walk featured a couple of things Saturday.

The first, people helping people. And of course the second was chocolate. Many different chocolate creations lined the streets of downtown Saturday, but that wasn't the main focus on the walk.

The spotlight was on helping Christ's Table raise money to provide meals to those who need it them most. Terri Clapper founded hope for homeless and she said the walk is all about helping people.

The 4th Annual Feed The Children Distribution was held Friday afternoon in the Secrest Auditorium parking lot.

Avon in conjunction with Christ's Table, the City of Zanesville and the Muskingum County Network helped to make this event a success. With the harvest season upon us, fresh produce donations at Christ's Table are always appreciated.

Each day the food kitchen has hundreds of individuals come through for a hot, home cooked meal. Kitchen Manager at Christ's Table, Tim Collins, says the donations that are brought in are always very important is providing the means to create the food distributed each day.

The Muskingum County Fair is still two weeks away, but Christ's Table is already preparing for one day in particular.

Kroger has stepped forward to sponsor a day at the fair which supports Christ's Table. You can bring two cans of Kroger brand fruit, or vegetables to donate to the organization and get free fair admission for the day. Christ's Table served a record breaking amount of meals in the month of June.

The non-profit organization served over 10,000 meals last month, doubling the amount of children served. Keely Warden,Executive Director of Christ's Table, explained the spike in meals served during the summer months.

The Kellogg Company typically makes food, but they will soon be hosting an event to help serve food to those less fortunate.

The Night Moves Kellogg 5K Run and Walk will take place at the Kellogg plant on Fairview Road in Zanesville later next month.  They typically average around 300 runners and walkers each year, and they hope to have close to 500 this year.  All the proceeds from the event will go to benefit Christ's Table.
