 Wednesday afternoon the Salvation Army is giving people a chance to satisfy their sweet tooth.

The army is selling 38 dozen sugar coated cookies. The Women's Auxiliary Group made 185 dozen cookies to raise money for the winter Coats for Kids drive. Employee, Dustin Redmond said the army relies on the Women's Auxiliary Group.

The Salvation Army received a generous donation today.

This morning, Terry's Tavern on Linden Avenue presented a check for $1,000 to The Salvation Army. Co-owner Tim Arnold says they've been collecting donations for about six months now and this is the third year they've been able to make a donation.

The Salvation Army held its annual "Coats for Kids" clothing event this week.

The event took place yesterday and today from 10 A.M. until 2 P.M. By noon today the Salvaton Army had already given out 500 coats. If you missed "Coats for Kids" don't worry, Executive Director Mindy McCloy says there is still time to get a winter coat for you and your entire family.

Keeping kids warm for the winter becomes a major goal for one local business.

Friday, representatives of Terry's Tavern presented the Salvation Army, on behalf of the tavern and its patrons, with a $1,000  for their "Coats for Kids Campaign." Many kids will be warm for the winter thanks to a local establishment.

The warm temperatures Wednesday made it feel like summer, but it won't be long before winter arrives and your kids will need their coats.

The colder months are coming....and now is the time to clean out the coat closet and donate.

The Salvation Army will once again team-up with Old Town Cleaners to collect "Coats for Kids." Gently worn coats are donated, cleaned and repaired by Old Town Cleaners and then distributed through the Salvation Army.
