The Zanesville Police Department says business and 911 lines are back up and running.

The department lost all phone service after an accident that occurred around 11:00 a.m. Thursday. EMA Director Bo Keck said a Columbia Gas Company crew was doing some work and accidentally severed all phone lines to the Zanesville Police Department, including 911.

Columbia Gas is making it easier to get accurate monthly readings.

Beginning this week the company started using automated meter readings. 1.5 million customers statewide had a new dial placed on their meters which transmits a signal every fifteen seconds. The meter reader drives their route and the information from the meter is sent to a computer.

Columbia Gas Of Ohio is helping its customers save money on energy bills.

Spokesman Ray Frank met with the Muskingum County Commissioners to discuss several programs.  He said the guidelines vary based on income levels, but all residents are eligible to participate.

Columbia Gas of Ohio says it has plans to make improvements to the gas pipeline system on the city's south side.

The nearly 700 customers affected by the upgrade received a letter from Columbia Gas detailing their plans.

Columbia Gas is reporting Wednesday morning that almost all customers are back in service after a problem with a natural gas line Monday night in New Concord.

A spokesperson for the company said crews worked overnight to get service restored to the 150 customers affected. The only ones still offline are those that were not home or did not answer the door.

Crews are available to restore service to these handful of people once they contact Columbia Gas.

Around 150 Columbia Gas customers in New Concord have been without natural gas Tuesday following a problem with a pipeline late Monday night.

A Columbia Gas spokesperson says moisture got into the pipeline. The company has cleared the moisture, but now in order to restore service they must make access to every affected customer's home.

Part of downtown Cambridge was shut down Thursday afternoon, after workers struck a natural gas line.

Cambridge Fire Chief Rick Long says it happened around noon on the North 500 block of Wheeling Avenue. As soon as crews arrived they immediately shut down the area. Columbia Gas was called in to make the necessary repairs.

Columbia Gas of Ohio announced today its first award from its Jobs Growth Fund....a 50,000 dollar grant to Coll Materials Exchange.
