The President of Community Bank in Zanesville's is honored with the Banker of the Year award.
President and CEO Michael Steen, was recently presented with the Ohio Bankers League's 2014 Banker of the Year award. Steen has been with the bank in Zanesville for about 13 years now and has done a lot of work with both federal and state government on behalf of the Ohio banking industry.

A local boy was faced with that exact question this past Monday, when he and his family entered the Community Bank on Maysville Pike.
"There was a lady that came over to one of the islands that they make the checks out to, and she had money for her rent, her house and her car payment, and she dropped it," said Tommy Winland, a student at Philo Junior High.
The Community Bank was recently named the 'Community Lender of the Year' during the Great Lakes Lenders conference by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
"We were up against larger banks as well as community banks," said V.P. of Business Banking, Jim Wilson. "And because of our loan production, coverage of our banking footprint and based on historical numbers, we were awarded this honor."

Every year the United Way of Muskingum, Morgan and Perry counties kick-off its annual fundraising campaign. On Tuesday, over a dozen volunteers spent four hours in a training session held at Community Bank to prepare them for the start of the September 17 campaign.
"United Way is unique in that it's one of the only organizations that I know of anyway, that volunteers are responsible for primarily raising the money," said Executive Director of the United Way, Meg Deedrick....
At a meeting Thursday morning, the Muskingum County Commissioner's and the county treasurer agreed on Community Bank as the county's primary depository account.
"They had the best fee schedule," said Carol Friel, Muskingum County Treasurer. "The interest rate was comparable to the other location but they currently are our financial institution and we have a good relationship and nothing has changed so that's why we're keeping them."
