The Ohio Department of Transportation and Muskingum County have been awarded a grant of more than a half million dollars for a bridge replacement project.

Congressman Bill Johnson announced Wednesday that the $557,600 grant from the Federal Highway Administration will be used to replace the bridge on County Road 7/Cannelville Road.

Army veteran Wayne Shelton of Norwich has waited 45 years to receive his Purple Heart.

Shelton was awarded the Purple Heart for his service in Vietnam, but never received a medal. He served in Vietnam for a little over 11 months.
