 Crews will be back at work Friday morning searching for a man still missing in the Muskingum River. 

Authorities had to call off the search for the 53-year-old man Thursday night as they reported it was too dangerous to be near the water after dark. The river is still high from recent rains and had a swift current.

A search for a local man in the Muskingum River was called off for Thursday night.

The Coshoction County Sheriff's Office called the Dresden Fire Department out to Stillwell Road in reference to three people possibly drowning in the river.

The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office will be on the lookout for traffic violations this 4th of July weekend.

Sheriff Tim Rogers said they'll target the areas of South 7th Street, Otsego Avenue, Chestnut Street, State Route 83 and State Route 16.

The traffic blitz along with several others is part of a grant the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office received from the Ohio Department of Public Safety.

The grant covers the overtime costs incurred by the office.

The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office repors some storm damage affecting travel, Wednesday morning.

A dispatcher with the sheriff's office said that there are reports of downed branches and trees on some county roads as well as sporadic power outages.

American Electric Power is reporting that 900 of its Coshocton County customers are without service.

A-E-P says service should be restored by 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Police in Coschocton have arrested three people following a drug bust Friday afternoon.

According to The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office, around 4:30 PM, detectives served a search warrant at 846 South Lawn Avenue. While conducting the search, detectives seized multiple items including: $3,600 in cash, heroin, a large amount of marijuana, and various weapons. An accident at a factory in Coshocton County sends one person to the hospital.

The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office reported that around 10 p.m. Tuesday they received a 911 call from Sancast Incorporated at 535 Clow Lane. It was reported that a subject was trapped in a piece of machinery.

Coshocton County Sheriff's Office Reports that a dune buggy accident took place at Walhonding Hills Campground.

The accident took place early Saturday morning on June 1st at 1:59 a.m. Alan M. Ivancic 56 of Grafton, Ohio lost control of a dune buggy he was driving, striking a tree causing the vehicle to land on its side.

Ivancic suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

 The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office said a female suffers sever injuries after being attacked by the family's dog. 

Authorities said Tuesday around 2:40 p.m. they received a call in reference to a mid 30's female being attacked by the animal. The female was taken from the scene to Coshocton County Memorial Hospital and later flown by MedFlight to Grant Medical Center.

The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office said speed and possible alcohol use are suspected factors in a Tuesday afternoon accident.

Authorities said 29-year-old Sarah Nelisse of West Lafayette was flown to Grant Medical Center following the one vehicle crash around 2 p.m. on State Route 93.

Her two children ages 5 and 2 were also in the vehicle. They were taken to Coshocton Memorial and then to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus.

One man is dead after a stabbing in Coshocton County.

The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call about a stabbing at the Cedar Street Inn at 12:15 a.m. Sunday morning.

 Matthew D. Gadfield, 18, of the Coshocton area was taken to Coshocton Memorial Hospital where he later died from his injury. One man is in custody in and is being held at the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office pending formal charges.
