An OVI checkpoint will take place in Coshocton County this evening...

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Coshocton County Sheriff's Department will perform the checkpoint from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. this evening on Seventh Street in the City of Coshocton.

The body of 53 year old, Mark Walters, was found Sunday afternoon by search crews on the Muskingum River.

According to Coshocton County Sheriff's Office, Sergeant John Glasure, Walters body surfaced around 2:30 pm, about a half a mile from where he was last seen, near the bridge on County Road 273 and the American Electric Power Plant in Conesville.

It is day two of a search of the Muskingum river for a Coshocton man who has been missing since the boat he was riding in capsized.

In only two weeks time, southeastern Ohio has seen more than 7 inches of rain and has caused significant flooding of local rivers and streams. Harsh flood conditions are extremely dangerous and are to blame for the flipping of a boat into the Muskingum River in Coshocton with three individuals on board. 53 year old Mark Walters is still missing.

 Crews will be back at work Friday morning searching for a man still missing in the Muskingum River. 

Authorities had to call off the search for the 53-year-old man Thursday night as they reported it was too dangerous to be near the water after dark. The river is still high from recent rains and had a swift current.

A search for a local man in the Muskingum River was called off for Thursday night.

The Coshoction County Sheriff's Office called the Dresden Fire Department out to Stillwell Road in reference to three people possibly drowning in the river.

The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office will be on the lookout for traffic violations this 4th of July weekend.

Sheriff Tim Rogers said they'll target the areas of South 7th Street, Otsego Avenue, Chestnut Street, State Route 83 and State Route 16.

The traffic blitz along with several others is part of a grant the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office received from the Ohio Department of Public Safety.

The grant covers the overtime costs incurred by the office.

The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office repors some storm damage affecting travel, Wednesday morning.

A dispatcher with the sheriff's office said that there are reports of downed branches and trees on some county roads as well as sporadic power outages.

American Electric Power is reporting that 900 of its Coshocton County customers are without service.

A-E-P says service should be restored by 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Police in Coschocton have arrested three people following a drug bust Friday afternoon.

According to The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office, around 4:30 PM, detectives served a search warrant at 846 South Lawn Avenue. While conducting the search, detectives seized multiple items including: $3,600 in cash, heroin, a large amount of marijuana, and various weapons. Two males and one female were taken into custody and are awaiting the filing of pending charges.

An accident at a factory in Coshocton County sends one person to the hospital.

The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office reported that around 10 p.m. Tuesday they received a 911 call from Sancast Incorporated at 535 Clow Lane. It was reported that a subject was trapped in a piece of machinery.

Coshocton County Sheriff's Office Reports that a dune buggy accident took place at Walhonding Hills Campground.

The accident took place early Saturday morning on June 1st at 1:59 a.m. Alan M. Ivancic 56 of Grafton, Ohio lost control of a dune buggy he was driving, striking a tree causing the vehicle to land on its side.

Ivancic suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
