County Treasurer, Carol Friel met with the Muskingum County Commissioners Thursday afternoon.

Muskingum County Treasurer Carol Friel updated the county commissioner's on the status of the county's finances. Friel and the commissioner's reviewed the county's investments during their monthly meeting Monday afternoon.

Not much has changed in the county's budget.

During a meeting with the Muskingum County Commissioner's, County Treasurer Carol Friel said everything is stable with the county's investments.

"We have budgeted $550,000 and we're afraid we're going to have to change the budget projecting downward because the market has not, our investments have not proven to do what they had hoped they would when the budget was first put together," explained Friel.

Muskingum County Commissioners met with County Treasurer Phil Murphy today.

Murphy told the commissioners that one of their CDs will mature on September 1st.  Commissioner Jerry Lavy said most of the rates are locked in, but the unsteady market could affect the county's investments in the future.

"Most of the investments that we have are locked percentages," said Lavy.  "As time goes on and they start maturing, then it will have some affect on it....
