A variety of drugs and a weapon was found following a routine traffic stop.

According to the Cambridge Police Department at approximately 10:21 p.m. on Friday night  officers stopped at vehicle on Highland Avenue.

The K-9 unit was sent to sniff the car and the department found small amounts of  Heroin, Percocet Pills, Cocaine, Marijuana and suspected Morphine.

The Muskingum County Crime Stoppers are essentially the eyes and ears of law enforcement officers when they can't be everywhere. The group has over 5,000 members who donate their time to making Muskingum County a safer place to live.

Fairfield County's Community Watch Program is entering its fourth year, and Sheriff Dave Phalen says crime has reduced by 50 percent in neighborhoods that are taking part.

The program utilizes four retired cruisers, all of which have Amber warning lights and are marked as "Community Watch" cars.

The Athens Police Department is asking for help from Ohio University students and the community.

It's looking for a suspect, who is described as Latino, between 22 and 28-years-of-age, around 5'5", and about 130 pounds. The man was last seen wearing a tan shirt that had a collar and blue jeans.

Officers say the man allegedly touched a female OU student inappropriately in the Riverpark Towers Apartment complex this weekend. The woman wasn't injured in the incident.

Muskingum County Sheriff, Matt Lutz, says crime rates were down across the area last year, despite the fact  his office handled about 1,500 more calls.

Felony arrests, traffic accident reports, burglaries, domestic violence, assaults, and thefts all decreased in 2009. In fact, the sheriff's office only saw an increase in misdemeanors and car thefts.

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating an early morning home invasion burglary.

It happened just before 3:00 a.m. in the 800 block of Orchard Street.

"When the officers arrived there, what they found was that the male and female resident of the apartment were awakened when two males barged in the door of their apartment, " says Detective Sergeant Ric Roush.
