Flu season has barely ended, and the Rambo Health Center is already looking at plans for the next one.

Executive Director, Crystal Bebout, said Rambo can operate with a small staff for most of the year. But that changes when flu season comes around. The November election is just shy of a month away, and one of the issues seen on the ballot involves Rambo Memorial Health Center.

The 5 year levy renewal will pay for a variety of services offered by Rambo. Crystal Bebout, Executive Director of Rambo Health Center told us a little bit more about it.

The harsh temperatures kept a sought after shot from being delivered.

Earlier this week, Rambo Memorial Health anxiously awaited the arrival of more flu vaccines. The cold temperatures kept the vaccine from shipping. Now that temperatures have improved the shot is available again.

On Thursday, over 90 shots were given out. The Centers for Disease Control reported Ohio is seeing outbreaks in the northern part of the state, moving in our direction.

Representatives of Rambo Memorial Health told Muskingum County Commissioners they are at a crossroads.

While they are best known for providing flu shots, they also offer 30 other services. 13 of those services were added in the last five years. The services usually either are no cost or cost a small fee.

"I think we're getting more and more into wellness situation," said Executive Director Crystal Bebout. "We are looking at preventive type services."
