It was another great year for the 'Dancing with the Divas' fundraiser.

WHIZ's own, Phil Sakal put on his dancing shoes to raise money for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. Dancing Divas, Artistic Director, Trudy Cultice said the celebrities raised an impressive total of $33,000 for charity.

The fifth season of Dancing with the Divas happened at Eagle Sticks Saturday evening.

Eight local celebrities, including WHIZ's Phil Sakal made their dancing debuts for a good cause. Artistic Director, Trudy Cultice said the event always brings a fun factor.

The Muskingum County Recreation Center is hosting a dodge ball tournament next Saturday.

The tournament will benefit Tara Poorman's charity at the annual 'Dancing with the Divas' fundraiser.

Dancing with the Divas is in just over a month, but before then the dancers are having fundraisers. 

WHIZ meteorologist Phil Sakal will be dancing at the event. Although he wouldn't give hints into his dance, he has released details about his upcoming fundraiser. Thursday evening, the Dancing Diva's announced their season five "Dancing with the Divas" celebrities.

Local celebrities laced up their dancing shoes Saturday evening.

The fourth annual "Dancing with the Divas" event was held at the Eaglesticks Golf Club Saturday night. Co-host, Keely Ledebur said the event allowed eight local celebrities to compete in a dance competition to raise money for the charity of their choice.

A local organization is looking for volunteers and donations to make a difference in the lives of area children.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville has two outreach programs throughout the year, the first being a community based program where littles and bigs are matched and meet outside of school. The second, is school based program that will gear up in mid August. Elementary students are matched with a big once a week for a hour during the school day.

Dancing with the Divas local celebrity competition is more than a week away but one dancing duo hosted an additional fund-raising event to raise even more money for their charity.

Dancing partners, Kevin Knapp and Debbie Grubb, are one of the eight pairs of dancers and they have selected Big Brothers Big Sisters as their local charity to raise money for at the Dancing with the Divas contest as well as a smaller fund-raising event this evening at Eaglesticks Golf Club.
