The Appalachian Ohio P-20 Council honored 'Champions' of the organization Friday morning at Muskingum University

The council seeks to inspire student success in the southeastern region of Ohio for those in pre-school through college.  Students, teachers and aspiring administrators are being acknowledged for their leadership and excellence shown in Muskingum county area schools.

Superintendent of the Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center, David Branch met with the County Commissioners Thursday afternoon.

Branch's agenda included the final design for interior and exterior signage for the county services building. After todays approval for the signage design the next step will be to contact the city for the go ahead on the installation of any exterior signage.

A meeting took place today at Zanesville High School to recognize outstanding educators in our area.

The Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center awarded educators from 17 school districts.

"Words like caring, passionate, humble, exciting, student centered, student engaged all of those types of descriptors were used this morning ," said Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center Superintendent, David Branch.

The Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center is bracing for what could mean drastic cuts to its funding.

Under the Governor Kasich's biennium budget Superintendent David Branch said their funding will go from $1.8 billion to $640,000 a 66 percent drop.

Currently, the ESC helps provide a variety of services like psychologists, occupational therapists and pre-school classrooms to school districts in five counties. Funding cuts mean a higher cost to districts and cuts to services...

A local superintendent is lacing up his walking shoes for kids.

David Branch the Superintendent of the Franklin Local School District is walking 13 miles to promote walking to school and the health benefits of walking.
