Local small business owners came together this morning to talk budget.

Zanesville City Council's Budget Committee is still working to make up a huge shortfall.

With a nearly $500,000 deficit in the city's budget, officials gathered to review three proposals created by Budget and Finance Director Dale Raines to determine which would be most feasible for the upcoming year.

The Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department is having some problems with its budget.

It's unbalanced, and there's a deficit of more than $300,000.

The City of Zanesville continues to battle over how the 2010 budget will be balanced.

Seven proposals by Budget and Finance Director Dale Raines would close the $2.6 million deficit by $1.1 million.

As some are loosening their belts from the holidays, the City of Zanesville is tightening theirs.
