A group of about eight women at Primrose Retirement Community have spent the last two months making fleece blankets for Transitions, a domestic violence shelter that serves women and children in Muskingum, Morgan and Perry counties.

On Tuesday, the Moose Lodge presented the Muskingum County Hunger Network and the Muskingum Valley Miracle League each with a check totaling over $4600. Moose Lodge Administrator Ron Baughman said it took about a year of fundraising to make the donations possible.

It takes more than just food and volunteers to keep Christ's Table running.

The Salvation Army is in desperate need of help from the community.

They operate primarily on grant money and from the support of the public, and every Christmas they provide presents for thousands of children and food for over 600 families. The First United Methodist Church on Putnam Avenue provides clothing for more than 4,000 families in our area and they need your help.

Last month, the Center for Seniors served just over 600 meals, up 43% from last year. With such a large increase, they need donations from the community to keep the pantry open.

A local family is in financial need to help put a loved one to rest and is reaching out to the community for donations.

Terence Degarmo, tragically and suddenly passed away on December 26th. He was only 23 years old and leaves behind a young daughter, family and friends.
