The problem of arson in Dresden is real. Village council members met on Thursday to talk about offering reward money to help find the person responsible.

For five years the village has been dealing with the work of an arsonist. The latest fire was set at 95 S.Chestnut Street in January and Dresden Mayor, David Mathew hopes that offering a reward will encourage people to come forward with information.

Icy conditions in Dresden presented challenges for fire fighters at the scene of a garage fire this evening. Chris Baruning of 5180 Fawn Drive called Falls Township Fire Department after 3 PM to extinguish a fire in his garage.

The call originally came in as smoke showing from a building at 95 Chestnut Street in the Village of Dresden at around 11 p.m. Tuesday night. When crews arrived shortly after, flames were shooting out through the roof and windows of the building.

Officials from the Dresden Water Department say that they are experiencing a severe water leak. The department says that  will affect water pressure and water loss for area residence . Officials say once the leak is contained the city will be under a water boil alert until further notice.

The Dresden Swim Center is owned by the Longaberger Company and they're looking to sell it to the Village of Dresden by this fall.

"The village has leased this pool from Longaberger for the past 10 years and now the village is looking to purchase the pool from Longaberger this summer," said Samantha Mizer, Manager of the Dresden Swim Center. The accident involving a car and truck happened around 5:15p.m. on Gene Cox Memorial Drive just east of Dresden. Fire crews and a MedFlight helicopter responded to the scene near a crop field.

"It appears that the Dodge truck was backing out of this farm field. It was in the middle of the road when the Honda came over the rise from the railroad crossing and the Honda was unable to stop to avoid hitting the truck," said Bill Duerson of The Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A Dresden home suffered major damage in a fire Friday evening.

Firefighters were called to 21 East Sixth Street shortly before 8 p.m.

Crews from the Dresden and Falls Township Fire Departments were on scene.

A home outside of Dresden is being called a total loss after a fire early Saturday evening.

Jennifer Conrad says her home on Mollies Rock Road was experiencing problems when a gas line used to heat her home froze.
Conrad, along with boyfriend, Jeff Hawk, and their three children were not home at the time of the fire.
A dog that was inside the trailer managed to escape.

A holiday tradition is making dreams come true.

People lined Main Street in Dresden on Saturday night to watch the "Come Home for the Holidays" parade.  Firetrucks, horse-drawn carriages and decorated wagons entertained the crowd.
