Students at Dresden Elementary spent the day with world reknown children's author, Jerry Pallotta.

Select students had the opportunity to have lunch with the author, who's written 80 books, including "The Icky Bug Alphabet Book" and "The Bird Alphabet Book". Pallotta says when he first began writing, his ideas came from his own children.

Tri-Valley's high school stadium was packed with fans hours before Friday's football game.

Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar stopped by a pep rally to meet kids from Dresden Elementary.  Kosar said he was there to promote the NFL's Play 60 initiative.

"With technology - computers and TV, you get a lot of people sometimes that don't go outside and don't exercise," said Kosar.

Kosar said his goal is to get kids off the couch and spend at least 60...

From the college classroom to Dresden Elementary School, a special guest spoke with elementary students.

Children's book author and illustrator, New York Times Best Seller, and college professor, Michael Garland, spoke with Dresden Elementary students about the importance of reading by telling his own story.
