Steaks were served and cakes auctioned off at the Dresden Fire Department Sunday.

For the 7th year in a row the Dresden Fire and Police Departments teamed up to raise funds for each department. The fire department started the morning off by serving around 350 baked steak dinners before the police department took over auction off cakes.

The Dresden Fire and Police Departments are warning residents to stay away from a burned out structure in the village.

The Fire Department said that Chestnut Street in closed at the old Longaberger Coporate Offices at 95 Chestnut Street. 

Officials said the are is unsafe and investigations into what caused the fire continue. They said anyone walking around the area or driving through the barricades are subject to a ticket or arrest.

The investigation into a Dresden fire continues.

The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office, Dresden Police and the State Fire Marshal's Office all took a look at the scene at 95 North Chestnut Street. The mostly vacant building that once housed the Longaberger Corporate Offices caught fire around 11p.m. Tuesday.

Dresden Fire Chief Carl Archer said the fire began on the north end of the building and quickly spread. Firefighters battled the fire from outside the structure.

The call originally came in as smoke showing from a building at 95 Chestnut Street in the Village of Dresden at around 11 p.m. Tuesday night. When crews arrived shortly after, flames were shooting out through the roof and windows of the building.

At around 2:30 p.m. on Monday,  crews responded to a call about a structure fire on the 900 block of 3rd Street in Adams Mills. When Dresden Fire Department's Assistant Fire Chief Harold Wolford arrived, he says the home was in flames.

"We arrived to a structure fire, an investigation hasn't started yet but when we arrived we had heavy fire on the first floor that went up into the attic," explained Wolford.

A fire in Trinway Sunday restarted on Monday bringing back the Dresden Fire Department.

The Willlams Asphalt and Concrete building re-kindled Monday, the  State Fire Marshal was on the scene conducting an investigation of the area. Investigators say foul play has not been ruled out as a cause.

A commercial building caught fire in Trinway on Sunday, completely destroying the structure.

According to the Dresden Fire Department, at approximately 3 a.m., it received reports that Williams Asphalt and Concrete was ablaze. The paving company has been in the Williams' family for more than three generations and the owners say that they lost office equipment, heavy machinery and a piece of their heart in the flames.

A search for a local man in the Muskingum River was called off for Thursday night.

The Coshoction County Sheriff's Office called the Dresden Fire Department out to Stillwell Road in reference to three people possibly drowning in the river.

Dresden Fire Chief Carl Archer say an early Tuesday morning fire appears to be the work of an arsonist. The chief says a a large building at the corner of 5th and Main Streets caught on fire early this morning doing major damage. Archer says this is the 2nd or 3rd arson fire in the village this year and the 9th since 2009. The Dresden Fire Department responded to a call from a neighbor around 4:30 p.m. Friday evening about a fire on 2nd Avenue in Trinway. When crews arrived, smoke was coming from the home. Fire crews had the blaze under control around 5:30 p.m. There were no injuries and no one was at home when the fire started.
