The Muskingum County Safe Community Coalition launched their National Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign Monday.

The event took place at the County Fairgrounds. There were multiple guest speakers at the event including members of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Community Ambulance and the Muskingum County Coroner. The 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' campaign reminded impaired motorists not to get behind the wheel this past holiday weekend.

Area communities are taking part in a program to raise awareness about drinking and driving.

The kick off for the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign took place in the New Lexington Kroger parking lot at noon Friday. It runs from August 15th to September 1st. Perry County Safe Communities Coordinator, Corlyn Altier says that the event was held to raise awareness.
