Cambridge Police made two arrests for drugs following a traffic stop.

Authorities said it started on Highland Avenue around 2p.m. Thursday when officers pulled over a vehicle for a cracked windshield and a traffic violation.

When police questioned the 21-year-old and 28-year-old men, from Cleveland, they gave conflicting accounts of why they were in town.

Following a summit in November discussing the heroin epidemic in the state, a community action plan has been put in place. The summit was held in Cleveland to educate the public about the dangers of using heroin and to create a plan to combat the growing problem. A meth lab has been seized from a Thornville home.

After receiving information that methamphetamine was being produced at 14876 Empire Road, detectives from the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force and deputies from the Perry County Sheriff's Office seized the meth lab from the residence on Saturday. According to the Licking County Sheriff's Office 24-year-old Brandon Clemmons was booked into the Licking County Justice Center for Misdemeanor and Felony Charges.

 The Ohio Substance Abuse Monitoring Network studies drug trends throughout Ohio and they've released their January 2013 report of drug abuse trends in the 16 county Athens region. The study found that a cheaper version of heroin called, "black tar heroin" is on the rise.

Ohio Attorney General Mike Dewine says synthetic drugs are being tweaked to stay legal.

Authorities in Perry County are seeing positive results since joining a multi-agency drug task force.
