Zanesville Police investigate a shooting in the 700 block of Dryden Road.

Lt. Chris Phipps said they were called to the area around 11:20p.m. Tuesday and found two homes that had bullet holes in them.

Residents told officers that the shooting of the homes had actually taken place around 9:00p.m. No injuries were reported.

A local church is continuing its journey to fulfill the founding pastor's dream of a new house of worship.

The First United Pentecostal Church is hosting its third annual Fulfilling the Dream 5K to raise money for the new building's construction. The event will be held at Foxfire High School on July 26th. An altercation in Zanesville sends one person to the hospital.

Zanesville Police said the incident took place in the old Dryden IGA parking lot around 12:30 Tuesday morning.

Lt. Chris Phipps said that they were originally called the scene for a traffic accident and a smoking car.

When they got there they found there had been a fight in the parking lot.

He said one man was trying to get into a vehicle when he was hit by a second vehicle, which drug him.

A Zanesville woman is lucky to be alive after being shot in the head early Tuesday morning while delivering newspapers.

The 9-1-1 call came in at about 3 this morning. 53 year-old Joyce Miller of Zanesville was delivering the newspaper near Brighton Boulevard and Dryden Road. She thought she heard a car back fire. The sound she heard was gun fire-striking her just behind the right ear.

A domestic dispute that turned violent results in a four-year prison sentence for a 23-year-old woman.

Mysti Mayle was sentenced Monday for felonious assault in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court by Judge Kelly Cottrill.

In addition to her four-year sentence she will also have to pay restitution of more than $400.

Mayle shot a 23-year-old man in the hip outside her Dryden Road home in July 2009.
