A meeting was held Thursday evening in regards to a picture of Jesus hanging at John Glenn High School.

The picture in question depicts a shepherd herding his flock. The painting was donated more than 40 years ago as a memorial for Margaret Barnett, a beloved teacher. After receiving a complaint from a student, the picture was called into question by the American Civil Liberties Union.

A local school district hosted their 25th Annual Chalk on the Walk event.

More than 100 chalk drawings were entered into East Muskingum's annual art contest. Students ranging from kindergarten to 8th grade submitted their most creative pieces of work to be judged. 7th grader at East Muskingum Middle School and 1st place winner for his age group , Christian Milleson, loves to play the violin, which inspired his musical drawing.

A local school district passes a levy with a record setting approval rate.

The East Muskingum School District passed a 1.3 mill renewal levy on Tuesday. It provides emergency requirements for the district for the next 5 years. Superintendent Jill Johnson says community support made the difference.

Students of the East Muskingum School District showed off their artistic talent with chalk.

Chalk on the Walk is an opportunity for kindergarten through eighth grade students to create original sidewalk drawings. This is the twenty-third year for the event that allows children to get together and enjoy themselves.

An East Muskingum Local Schools bus was involved in an injury accident Tuesday.

According to the Trooper Scott Bayless with the State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 2:45 p.m. on U.S. 40 near the Sav-A-Step Drive-Thru just outside of New Concord.

A former East Muskingum School teacher receives a two year sentence on charges of sexual battery and attempted sexual battery.

29-year-old Adam Cook appeared Monday before Muskingum County Common Pleas Court Judge Kelly Cottrill for sentencing.

Cook plead guilty last month to the charges and was classified a Tier 3 sex offender.
