The Muskingum Valley Chapter of the Red Cross is getting a new home.

It's been located on 7th Street in Zanesville since the mid 1940's on Thursday the organization will move into their new building at 7650 East Pike.

"We are finally going to be handicap accessible," said Marlene Henderson, Executive Director. " It's all on one floor. We have more square footage there than what we do here and that's just a few of the many wonderful benefits. "

Young ladies lace-up their dance shoes in a new studio.

The Melissa Marie School of Dance celebrated their new location Saturday. Owner Melissa Berga has been operating the School of Dance for 10 years. Originally located along the East Pike in South Zanesville the growth and expansion of the company brought them to their new location along Old Falls Road in Zanesville. Berga whose been dancing since she was 2 knows the location doesn't matter- it's the inspiration.

The McDonald's on East Pike is back in business after three months of renovations.

The restaurant celebrated the grand re-opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday night.  Operations Supervisor Chad Lawson said improvements include a side-by-side drive thru and modern decor.  He said customers will see familiar faces at this McDonald's.

A two vehicle accident on the East Pike sends four people to the hospital.

It happened around 12:15 Tuesday afternoon near Perry Elementary School.

State Highway Patrol Trooper Mike Forshey say 28-year-old  Keith Roe of  Zanesville was driving his Nissan Pathfinder on the East Pike when he pulled over to the right side of the roadway to avoid colliding with an oncoming vehicle.

A three-car accident sends three people to the hospital.

It happened at about 8:45 p.m.

Two of the three injured were transported by Perry Township EMS to Good Samaritan Hospital. The third was transported to Bethesda.

None of the three sustained life-threatening injuries.

One local woman is holding an event to help benefit her friend and others throughout the community who are battling cancer.

Susie's Favorite's Owner, Susie Dodson, says her friend was diagnosed with breast cancer back in January.

"And she's doing very well, very well. She's still going through radiation, but she's doing really well, " says Dodson.

Some residents living on the East Pike may see a loss of water pressure and discolored water over a three day period.

It's due to the Muskingum County Fire School conducting a control burn on a commerical building at 2735 East Pike starting Friday and ending Sunday.
