While Wednesday was sunny and warm the days of snow and sleet are on their way to the buckeye state.

With cold weather comes the need for a winter coat. The Knights of Columbus in Zanesville are doing their part to keep kids warm this winter with their annual coat drive. Chair of the drive Robert LaPrad said they provide coats to kids each year and every year just seeing the kids happy is worth the hard work.

Locals went shopping for Christmas a little bit early at East Side Community Ministries on Saturday.

For the 7th year, more than 15 vendors gathered at the center for its annual Holiday Bazaar. The event that lasted from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon and brought local businesses and national vendors to sell a variety of items to the public.

East Side Community Ministry created a new signature event in hopes of bringing in funding and support.

The first-ever Riverboat Night will take place this Friday. Participants will be given play "money" to use throughout the evening. Winnings will be given in the form of tickets and can be used to enter for grand prize drawings. Development Director Joey Osborn is excited to hand out the grand prizes, one of which is a hand-made Ohio State Quilt and tickets to a game.

If you were shopping at the North Zanesville Wal Mart Saturday you may have been asked to help 'Stuff the Bus.'

For the 3rd year the Tools for School Project has aimed to fill a bus with school supplies to benefit local kids. Co- Chair Ellen Shaw said the goal is to give children in need a brighter future.

More than 100 golfers teed-up Saturday  for a good cause.

The 5th annual East Side Community Ministry Golf Outing took place Saturday afternoon at the Jaycee's Golf Course. 104 golfers took part in the event. Former Board Member Mark Crawmer said that's more than ever before.
