After a couple of tests on the roadway at Eastpointe Industrial Park, the problem that plagues the road still remains a mystery.

Port Authority Executive Director Mike Jacoby said they recently dug a test hole expecting to find water as the source of the problem, but no water was found.  The sewer department then ran a camera through the sewer line that goes underneath the road, but they couldn't find any breaks in the line.

Roadway problems that were thought to be understood in the Eastpointe Industrial Park have taken a turn.

It was believed that a slip was forming in the roadway, but Muskingum County Engineer Doug Davis told Port Authority Wednesday morning that there are actually other issues causing the problem.

"What the engineer said was that it's really a consolidation of the soils, so it's not really a slip or a slide based on what we think we know right now," said Port...

A slip is forming on a roadway in the Eastpointe Industrial Park and its causing concerns for the Port Authority.

Port Authority Executive Director Mike Jacoby said a noticeable dip has appeared in the asphalt and a small crack is forming because the road was built on fill soil. The hope is to correct the problem before it becomes a larger one.

Impending cuts to the City of Zanesville's budget is causing the Port Authority to rework their own.
