The race for Zanesville Mayor goes to incumbent Jeff Tilton who topped Rob Sharrer in a very close contest by 62 votes.

However, there are still 500 provisional ballots for Muskingum County left to be counted. As of Tuesday's latest results, Tilton received 2,242 votes, to Sharrer's 2,180 votes.

Voters could decide on two issues in Coshocton County Tuesday. 

The Coshocton County Joint Vocational School District 1 mill for 5 years to be used for general improvement, commencing in 2015, passed. 

FOR: 1,775 (57%) 

AGAINST: 1,328 (43%) 

Residents of the city of Coshocton voted on a levy for law enforcement, criminal justice and general safety and security of the citizens and public passed as well.

Polling closes for this year's primary election Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. We sought out people voting in the election. 

There were only a handful of things to vote on in Muskingum County, and Director of the board of elections, Chris Hamill, said that's one reason she expected a low turnout. As of late afternoon Tuesday, she did not think voting would hit 13 percent. But one voter said everyone should get out and vote.

Voting for Tuesday's primary election opens at 6:30 a.m. 

Muskingum County voters have several issues to decide on. The Center for Seniors has a bond issue on the ballot, voters in the Village of Philo can decide on a levy for current expenses, the Village of Dresden has a natural gas aggregation issue and in Jackson township, there is an issue for cemetery operation costs.

The November General Election is here.  The Polls are open in Zanesville and the rest of Ohio and voters are heading to the polls.  Reports out of Zanesville  indicated there are lines early this morning at area polls....mid afternoon is slow to stead and later today is expected to get busy again. Voters will head to the polls on Tuesday for the general election, and preparations are already underway in Muskingum County.

Board of Elections Director Chris Hamill said supplies were delivered to the county's 85 voting precincts on Monday.  She said the nice weather should bring a good turnout on Tuesday.

"Rainy days are harder for people to get out," said Hamill.  "With a sunny day, I think people are eager to go out on Election Day."

It is General Election day and voters are heading to the polls to help decide important races and issues.  Turnout is being called steady today.

18th Congressional Democratic Incumbent Zack Space is out visiting voters Tuesday. Congressman Space said he's focused on the election and what he can do for the district tomorrow regardless of today's outcome.

Election Day may is still over a month away, but some area residents took advantage of early voting.

Starting today, Ohio voters may cast no-fault absentee ballots for the November 3 elections.

Board of Election Director Chris Hamill says the office has been busy mailing absentee ballots--sending out nearly 350. Hamill said there have been quite a few people coming into the Board of Elections as well.

"Actually it's been a busy first day," said  Hamill....
