State troopers in Guernsey County will be out in force throughout the month of September to reduce crashes.

The Cambridge post of the State Highway Patrol will be heavily targeting roadways throughout Guernsey County in an effort to encourage safe driving. It's a part of their "Adopt a Milepost" initiative.

As another academic year nears, so do new dress code guidelines for one local school district.

The Newark School Board approved the changes back in May. Students will be required to wear black or khaki pants along with a white, crimson, black, or gray three-button or button-down shirt, but enforcement of that dress code will not take place until after the students return from Thanksgiving break, on November 29th. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is concluding its two-week "Operation Dry Water" campaign.

During the busiest boating weekend of the summer, it's reporting no boating-related fatalities across the state and only a few accidents.

Officers did arrest 11 people for operating a boat above the legal alcohol impairment limit. Another 17 boaters were arrested for being impaired, and 9 people were received violations for using drugs.
